New President and CEO for drupa organizer, Messe Dusseldorf Named

January 26, 2004 -- Werner M. Dornscheidt has recently been named as the new President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, one of the world’s leading trade fair organizers for the machinery, medical, service and fashion industries. As of January 2, 2004, Werner Dornscheidt succeeds Wilhelm Giese, who retired at the end of 2003. Messe Düsseldorf’s supervisory board selected Werner Dornscheidt for the position of President and CEO to profit from his extensive trade show expertise and to ensure continuity in the corporate management for the future. Werner Dornscheidt started to work for Messe Düsseldorf in 1979 as an assistant in the foreign trade fairs department and from 1984 to 1986 was responsible for new projects in countries other than Germany. Between 1986 and 1990, he acted as Division Director of the exhibitions and sales promotion department within the Central Marketing Society of German Agricultural Products (CMA) before assuming the position of Vice President of Messe Düsseldorf International in 1990. In 1999, Werner Dornscheidt became the spokesman for the Board of Messe Leipzig GmbH and in 2001 he was promoted to Chairman of the Board. As President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, Werner Dornscheidt returned to his native Düsseldorf in January 2004.
