White Stone, VA, January 23, 2004 -- The Research & Engineering Council of the National Association for Printing Leadership has announced that its 46th annual Binding, Finishing and Distribution Seminar will be held April 6 and 7, 2004, at the Marriott O’Hare Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The theme of the meeting will be Focusing On Finishing First.
The annual R&E Council Bindery seminar is widely seen as the preeminent technical meeting in the postpress segment of the printing industry, and provides an opportunity for postpress executives and employees to learn how to maximize operations performance. The 2004 event will be chaired by Dr. Twyla J. Cummings, vice president of the R&E Council and director of graduate programs at the Rochester Institute of Technology School of Print Media. The meeting will feature speakers representing printers, trade binders, publishers, manufacturers, educators, and consultants, and will focus on both mechanical and digital productivity solutions of particular interest to companies in the printing industry.
Among the meeting highlights is a keynote address by Barry R. Meinerth, senior vice president of production and fulfillment at Time, Inc. In addition, attendees will hear special presentations by Ronald E. Daly, president and CEO of Océ North America, and Raymond A. Frick, Jr., CEO and president of The Lehigh Press (Von Hoffmann Corporation), and Lisa Palvino, director of marketing at Diamond Packaging. In addition, speakers from Action Printing, Banta Corporation, R. R. Donnelley & Sons, McGraw-Hill, and Quad/Graphics will discuss how they have solved binding, finishing and distribution problems in their plants.
