Press release from the issuing company
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 21 -- Oce today announced the promotion of Wilbert Verheyen to president and chief executive officer of Oce Display Graphics Systems, Inc. Verheyen, who previously served as executive vice president, assumes the positions previously held by Rak Kumar, who is retiring from the company.
Oce Display Graphics Systems is a leading developer of production digital printing and imaging equipment. It manufactures a range of solutions specifically designed for the print-for-pay display graphics market, including the Oce Arizona line of outdoor durable printers and the Oce LightJet family of photo laser printers. Oce Display Graphics Systems is a business group of the Wide Format Printing Systems strategic business unit of Oce N.V., based in The Netherlands. Its products are sold through Oce direct sales representatives and select distribution channels worldwide. In the U.S., Oce Display Graphics Systems products are available from the Oce North America Wide Format Printing Systems division in Chicago, IL.
Verheyen began his career with Oce in 1990 in Sales and Marketing. He has held various marketing and business management positions with Oce at its headquarters in Venlo, The Netherlands, and at two Oce operating companies, Oce North America in Chicago and Oce-Portugal in Lisbon. In 2002, Verheyen relocated to San Jose, CA, with his appointment to executive vice president of Oce Display Graphics Systems. He holds an MBA from the University of Leuven in Belgium and an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Nyenrode in The Netherlands.
"Display graphics is one of the strategic growth areas for Oce," said Verheyen. "Oce is a 125-year old company, and many times in its history it has had to select new markets to target for growth. I am convinced we have a great opportunity to position Oce as one of the leading companies in this market. Our engineering team's extensive inkjet expertise combined with our research and development reputation of building solid, reliable production printers gives us great potential."
