Drupa 2012 Song Released Online

Press release from the issuing company

One year before the start of drupa 2012, print media trade fair, the show's traditional song has been released online at www.drupa.com. The three-minute song "Get ready to succeed" features a modern dance-floor sound and is made available at this time to coincide with the Eurovision Song Contest Finals in Düsseldorf. The song can also be activated with an augmented reality app on a smartphone (from iPhone 3GS iOS4 or Android 2.1 versions on) by downloading the free Junaio app from the app store, dialing into the drupa channel and focusing the camera on a drupa logo with the addition "AR" from a 20-cm distance. drupa will be held from May 3 - 16, 2012 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The drupa song was not composed, written or produced by a professional band but by Messe Düsseldorf employee Dirk Zeisler who has been singing with the band Planet Five for years in his free time. Together with his friend Robert Taubler he developed the lyrics and melody. Several weeks later the song was arranged and produced and an advertising agency added photographic impressions to complement the music. Several gigs of the band are already planned for drupa 2012.

The drupa song has a long-standing tradition. The first song came out in 1986, composed and sung by Dave Gibson. Since then, this song is played every morning when drupa opens its doors. Another song became famous for the millennium drupa, sung by Lucy Wende, produced by Rolf Lammers and Mal Sondocks. In 2004, visitors and exhibitors were musically welcomed by Elke Diepenbeck (licensed by Stephen Großer) and in 2008 it was Ladag Medien.
