Press release from the issuing company
Rolling Meadows, IL - Komori America Corporation, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced that Suttle-Straus has recently installed a six-color Komori Lithrone S40 (LS640) with UV as part of its $2.6 million capital improvement plan. Suttle-Straus is recognized as one of the Midwest's premier providers of communications solutions, specializing in producing high-end corporate communications, direct mail, and advertising materials.
The impetus for the investment is to provide customers with cutting-edge end-to-end technologies and enhancements designed to increase efficiencies and deliver a new level of productivity. The advanced capabilities of the Komori press will offer Suttle-Straus' customers expanded print applications including paper, board and plastic substrates as well as conventional UV and hybrid processes.
"We are delighted with the speed and flexibility of our new press. We did a lot of research and evaluated all the major equipment vendors, but found Komori to be the best fit for us," said John Berthelsen, president of Suttle-Straus. "Prior to installing the LS640, all of our equipment was from another manufacturer so it took a lot to put another company's press on our floor. However, in our search for the right solution, Komori delivered all of the advanced features, speed, and capabilities we were looking for to offer our customers an expansive range of quality products and services, with a quick turnaround, and at a competitive price."
Approximately seventy percent of the company's production focuses on direct mail. UV makes it possible to produce durable, high-gloss direct mail marketing pieces for Suttle-Straus' discerning clientele. Additionally, important to the decision in selecting the Komori press was its intuitive technology that makes it possible to deliver shorter make ready times, higher productivity, and less waste.
"Suttle-Straus has a well-deserved reputation for providing its customers the highest caliber of innovative products and services. We are proud to be a central part of Suttle-Straus press room and look forward to a long and successful relationship with them," said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice-president of sales and marketing.
