WHAT:
Renaming ceremony of GPO's Public Documents Distribution Center in honor of the late Congressman Frank E. Evans in accordance with an act of the 111th Congress as signed by President Barack Obama. Congressman Evans' widow, daughter and extended family will join Federal, state and local officials at the unveiling ceremony to commemorate his achievements and contributions to Colorado's Congressional 3rd district.  Senator Mark Udall, Senator Michael Bennet and former Congressman John Salazar led the legislation through both the House and Senate as a tribute to Congressman Evans, who passed away in June of 2010.

ABOUT:
As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Evans led the effort to establish the GPO's Public Documents Distribution Center in Pueblo, CO.  The Center opened its doors for business in 1971 and serves as the distributor for the publications of the Federal Citizen Information Center, a unit of the General Services Administration. Since its inception 40 years ago, the Center has processed and distributed more than 800 million publications.
