RISO and Solimar Systems announce alliance

Press release from the issuing company

Danvers, MA and San Diego, CA - RISO, Inc., a leader in high-speed cut-sheet digital color inkjet printing technology, and Solimar Systems, Inc., a leading provider of production printing and secure document delivery solutions, today announced a cooperative effort to expand the availability of mid-volume communications color printing solutions.

As a result, RISO high-speed cut-sheet inkjet printers are certified to work with Solimar's transactional document conversion, re-engineering, and electronic delivery solutions to provide customers with single-pass full color for mid-volume production and reprint workflows.

The combination of RISO high-speed cut-sheet inkjet printers and Solimar advanced workflow products delivers a scalable, low-risk solution for mid-volume transactional printers, direct mailers, and service bureaus to eliminate the cost and management associated with preprinted offset shells.   Employing the latest in RISO's FORCEJET printing technology and robust full-width array production-class Piezo drop-on-demand inkjet technology, printed documents from the five ComColor models closely match output from leading roll-fed inkjet presses.

"We are pleased to be working with Solimar to deliver new high-speed production color printing and reprint capabilities to firms producing transactional content including invoices, statements, and notices," said Kevin Hunter, executive director of strategic marketing for RISO, Inc.

According to Mary Ann Rowan, VP sales and marketing for Solimar: "RISO's ComColor high-speed inkjet printers, supported by Solimar products, provide economical solutions for an important class of color transactional applications, including reprint workflows for very high-speed, continuous feed inkjets."

RISO will feature print demonstrations in booth 2643 at the On Demand Digital Publishing and Printing Exposition and Conference in Washington, DC March 22-24.
