acadami offers skills assessment test for attendees to Xplor

Press release from the issuing company

Richardson, Texas – In preparation for its Transaction Document School to be held at the Xplor International Conference and Vendor Forum in Tampa Bay in April, acadami has placed a skills assessment exam online for prospective attendees to see how they would benefit from the Transaction Document School. The exam questions are based on a random sampling of the information taught during the School, and students must score higher than 85% on similar exams to graduate from the School.

The Equivalency Exam

In order to help prospective students understand the breadth of information related to the creation and distribution of transaction documents – both printed and electronic – and to help them identify any shortcomings in their own backgrounds, acadami offers an online "Equivalency Exam", which is a skills assessment test covering the Transaction Document space.

Note that the Exam is for skills assessment only and will not award any Xplor-certified educational credits. However, professionals in the industry may find the Exam an effective way to help pinpoint any gaps in their knowledge of the overall document process, and managers in the industry may find the Exam a useful tool for evaluating employee skills.

The Exam can be found on the acadami website at http://www.acadami.org/Equivalency_Exam.html and registration is free.

This test consists of sixty questions randomly chosen from a pool of more than 120. These questions come from the same material found in the   Transaction Document School from acadami, and are similar to the questions that the students must answer in the three exams given in the School.

Transaction Document School

The Transaction Document School from acadami is an intensive five-day training program consisting of three in-class courses and three online webinars that cover the breadth and width of the transaction document production process.

Students who take the school and pass the three exams earn enough Xplor CEU-certified education units to immediately qualify for the Electronic Document Associate designation in the EDP certification program. Over 40 colleagues have already earned their EDA through the school pilots in Canada and the UK. acadami is hosting the first School in the USA at the Xplor International Conference and Vendor Forum in April 2011.

Students will attend and be examined on three courses within the school:
- Transaction Document Production (Monday and Tuesday)
- Document System Lifecycle (Wednesday and Thursday)
- Transaction Document Best Practices (Friday)

Pre-Attendance Webinars:

In addition, students must view the following acadami webinars (included in the tuition), whose material will be covered on the exams for the Transaction Document Production course:

- Typography
- Design
- Color

The Electronic Document Associate Designation

The EDA designation recognizes electronic document sales, development and support specialists who have shown significantly more knowledge of the industry than someone in another discipline.

The EDA designation requires candidates to be in the industry for 2+ years and have successfully completed 5 days of Xplor Continuing Education Unit (CEU) certified courses, or the equivalent.

"With the Transaction Document School option, industry professionals can gain a broad knowledge of terms, processes, and best practices of the transaction document production workflow in just one week – as well as earn the industry-recognized designation," said William J. 'Bill' McCalpin, acadami registrar and co-founder. "As a VP of Document Services at Citigroup Global Transactions recently told us: 'The course material, and the way it was presented, is excellent. It would be impossible to teach my team this amount of relevant information internally. In short, this is a must for all my staff.'"

"acadami courses not only provide a quick path for newer members of our industry to learn the overall workflow of transaction document production, but provide an excellent way for existing EDAs and EDPs to earn recertification credits as part of their continuing professional development," says Bill Broddy, former EDP Commissioner and acadami provost. "Xplor certified courses from acadami fulfill a critical need in the transaction document industry for continuing education and professional development."
