Press release from the issuing company
Danvers, MA – Shawmut today announced it is celebrating 60 years as one of Boston’s most innovative printers. Since 1951, the family-owned and operated company has provided customers with high-quality products, unsurpassed customer service and today offers a wide-variety of in-house services.
Shawmut founder Ted Peluso started the company as a commercial printer and distributor of advertising specialties. Today, Peluso’s son and grandchildren, Dom Peluso, Michael Peluso, Dan Peluso and Stacy Peluso-Slaney, have turned the company into a multi-million dollar business. While Shawmut remains an expert in printing, they are also a full-service vendor offering clients design, printing, mailing and fulfillment.
“When my father founded the company, I don’t think he had any inclination that 60 years later there would be three generations of Peluso’s working for the company,” said Dom Peluso, president of Shawmut. “I’ve personally had the pleasure of working here for over 40 years, and am proud of the progress we’ve made since 1951, and look forward to the progress we will make in the next 60 years.”
One of the most significant changes Shawmut has made over the years is their expansion of capabilities and services related to technology. Today, variable data printing, the inclusion of Personalized URLs and online nurturing campaigns are among the many technology-related services Shawmut provides. Additionally, throughout 2011 the company is looking to increase efficiency through automation, which will monitor the progress of a project online from start to finish.
To commemorate their milestone anniversary, Shawmut has not only launched a new website, but will also be giving away four iPads throughout 2011 to those who register for the contest online. The iPad contest was created to help build momentum around the new website and as a way to celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary. The first winner will be selected this month and subsequent winners will be chosen in June, September and December.
