Warbasse Design and Wimo Reality partner for image recognition on mobile ads

Press release from the issuing company

Los Angeles, CA - Mobile media agency Warbasse Design creates a strategic alliance with Wimo Reality to bring image and brand recognition to mobile advertisers. QR Code Designer Philip Warbasse is known for turning 2D bar codes into elegant on-ramps to the mobile Web. His agencies work has been featured on such projects as HBO's True Blood and Disney's TRON Legacy. Now, in a strategic alliance with Wimo Reality, Warbasse is planning for the next generation of mobile triggers.

Using image recognition and OCR technology, Wimo Reality provides a unique platform for Warbasse and his elite group of mobile designers and developers to bring new marketing strategies to their clients and share their experiences with Wimo. "Wimo Reality has impressed us from the start as an extremely forward-thinking company that is focused on long range opportunities with both 2D bar codes and image recognition," says Philip Warbasse, CEO / Warbasse Design. "Ultimately, we think 2D bar codes like QR Codes will be replaced by brand recognition and other triggers that are more closely associated with an advertiser's unique mark."

The trick is separating campaigns within a major brand. Warbasse Design is currently working with their sister company Plush Mobile Servers to develop multiple platforms in order to find the best approach. One method uses geo-location to point users to stores offering discounts within their proximity. Warbasse plans to launch several options this Spring that will make brand recognition a viable alternative to 2-dimensional bar codes for large brands.

WiMO has been working with clients including Sony Pictures, Lions Gate and Dior on campaigns all over the world. The WiMO solution brings a whole new perspective to how users can interact with brands and in-turn enables brands to deliver compelling content directly from materials in the real world. The WiMO app's proprietary browser and media player enables multiple calls-to-action and interactive video. The solution also brings a unique approach to analytics, giving brands greater understanding of their customers and the ability to target content both geographically and demographically.

"This is still a nascent industry, but 2010 was a big year for mobile codes. User awareness of triggers of all types has grown exponentially as lots of great companies continue to find new and exciting uses for the platform. We have been working closely with our clients around the world to identify best practises for these types of campaigns and believe WiMO is the result of all of that great input. Philip is a leading figure in this industry and has been instrumental in many of the most succesful campaigns, we are very excited to see what creative ideas this alliance will spawn. We share his passion and vision for the potential of these technologies," concludes Stefan Haller, CEO / Wimo Reality.

Now, along with Designer QR Codes, Warbasse Design will provide its clients with even more choices for integrating media with the additon of Wimo Reality's image recognition platform to its growing list of mobile offerings.
