Press release from the issuing company
MISSISSAUGA, ON and LOS ANGELES, CA -- KUBRA, a customer interaction management solution provider, and Zumbox, the leader in digital postal mail services, today announced an agreement to provide digital postal mail as an alternative customer communications channel for KUBRA’s clients, which include some of the largest communication, utility, insurance, healthcare and financial services organizations in North America.
“Digital postal mail will provide an important output alternative for our clients to improve their customer communications,” said Rick Watkin, CEO of KUBRA. “Our alliance with Zumbox provides us with a powerful way to increase paper suppression rates and dramatically reduce costs for our customers. The Zumbox channel will complement our existing e-bill consolidator network portfolio with a consumer and document agnostic focused approach. It also lets mailers decrease paper waste – an increasing priority for consumers – and enhances customer communications for all mailers offering the channel.”
Digital postal mail is an exact facsimile of paper mail, created from a diversion of the print stream before it reaches a large mailing system. Zumbox archives and presents mail to consumers in a secure, central online environment, instead of on paper. Zumbox has created a digital mailbox for every street address in the United States, connecting large transactional, financial and government mailers to consumer households for the protected, on-time delivery of postal mail online.
A strong complement to its existing channels, KUBRA will integrate Zumbox into the KUBRA i-doxs Suite, the company’s flagship e-billing and self-service platform. Zumbox’ digital postal mail delivery capabilities are consistent with KUBRA’s mission to eliminate the need for standalone e-billing, one-time payment, electronic remittance consolidation and self-service solutions, all offered by KUBRA’s integrated enterprise suite.
Zumbox provides a new and realistic paper suppression alternative that addresses the gap between US consumers who have already gone paperless (about 15 percent) and those who say they will never suppress paper (about 30 percent). The remaining 55 percent of consumers offer an opportunity for mailers to address more than $20 billion in direct print mail costs. With Zumbox, mailers send paper versions of bills, statements and other transactional mail, in parallel with the digital postal mail, until consumers opt out of receiving paper versions. This provides the reassurance consumers need to feel comfortable going paperless.
“KUBRA is a recognized leader in the postal communications space, especially with regard to electronic presentment and payment solutions,” said John Payne, CEO of Zumbox. “The availability of digital postal mail for KUBRA’s clients, with all of the benefits that channel brings to hundreds of customers – and ultimately to millions of consumers – is another example of that leadership.
Zumbox gives consumers a simple, time-saving and green place to receive, interact with and archive their important household mail forever, for free. Digital postal mail eliminates the need for mailboxes, file drawers and bankers boxes with a central, secure digital repository for mail and documents based upon household residence address.
