Edmonds, WA – LithoTechnics, Inc., developer of Metrix, the intelligent, automated job planning and imposition system, announced today that Rohan Holt, founder of the company and inventor of Metrix, has moved from his Sydney location to be headquartered at the LithoTechnics office in the Seattle area.

Rohan Holt remarked, “Over the last six years we have made great headway in the Australian and New Zealand markets. However, we have more Metrix users in North America than on any other continent, along with most of our staff, and the North American market still has tremendous potential for growth. Australia and New Zealand are well covered and supported by our resellers, most notably Fujifilm Australia and Fujifilm New Zealand, so we decided it was time for me to shift location and focus on further growing our North American market share. Our Australian office, which is pri marily an R&D facility, will remain open.”

Holt continued, “Ninety percent of my travel has been to the Northern hemisphere, a very time-consuming and taxing exercise from Australia. As well, being in Seattle will allow me to have closer contact with our North American users, who are confronting very difficult economic conditions as well as unprecedented industry consolidation, pressure on profit margins, and stiff competition on many fronts. Such environments, while difficult, can help to incubate new ideas and serve as a catalyst for further technological advances.”

Holt is looking forward to living and working in Seattle, “a great place to grow a software business.” The move will facilitate relationships with Metrix partners, most of whom are in North America. Holt also sees advantages for the European market and the European LithoTechnics office, since communication logistics will be easier without the extreme time zone constraints.

Holt concluded, “There are great industry resources in North America, and I am looking forward to working more closely with industry associations and the graphic arts educational institutions, many of whom have already incorporated Metrix into their curricula. 2011 is shaping up to be a very exciting year, and I look forward to its challenges, rewards, and new experiences.”
