January 12, 2004 -- Quad/Graphics has recently enhanced its leadership with the election of Richard A. Burke to Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Burke, best known as Chairman and CEO of Trek Corporation, assumes the chairmanship after serving as a member of Quad/Graphics’ Board of Directors since 1994.

Currently, Mr. Burke serves as Chairman and CEO of Trek Corporation, the bicycle manufacturing company he founded in 1976. Under Mr. Burke's focused leadership, Trek Corporation has grown from a tiny upstart into the largest manufacturer of bicycles in the United States, and the second largest worldwide. Employing more than 1,500 people globally, the company generates annual sales in excess of $400 million. It maintains its headquarters in Waterloo, Wisconsin, where Mr. Burke first launched operations 27 years ago.
A 1956 graduate of Marquette University, Mr. Burke holds a bachelor's degree in business administration. He went on to earn his master's degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1979.
Well respected for his business acumen, Mr. Burke is also Chairman of the Board of Denver-based Roth Corporation. In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors for Marquette University, Urban Ecology Center, Trinity Foundation of Wisconsin and Main Street Industries, all of which are located in Greater Milwaukee.
Mr. Burke's election as Quad/Graphics' Chairman of the Board was confirmed at the December 19 Board meeting at which time Joel Quadracci, Quad/Graphics' Senior Vice President of Sales and Administration, was named a new director.
