Two Harper graphic solutions experts on FTA panel

Press release from the issuing company

Charlotte, NC – Bill Malm and Paul Teachout, both graphics experts at global anilox supplier Harper Corporation, recently served as judges for the 2011 Excellence in Flexography Awards competition sponsored by the Flexographic Technical Association.

An annual showcase for the best printing from the flexographic printing industry, the competition welcomes entries from all flexo printers/converters, print buyers, designers and students from qualified graphics arts schools -- whether FTA members or not.

Malm, Midwest/West Coast Technical Graphics Advisor for the Harper GraphicSolutions division, worked with other judges to review and rate wide web line and screen entries on their level of execution. Teachout, Harper Southeast Technical Graphics Advisor, judged entries in the mid web, paperboard and napkin categories based on their degree of difficulty.

Competition judges gathered last month outside New York City to provide blind judging for hundreds of this year's entries grouped according to 11 categories. These included wide web, mid web, narrow web, paperboard, napkins, combined corrugated, preprinted linerboard, envelope, publications/newspaper, self-promotion and students.

Award winners will be honored at a Sunday evening banquet during the annual FTA Forum set for Indianapolis, IN, the first week of May. In addition to receiving plaques, winners will be recognized in Flexo Magazine.
