NEW YORK, Oct. 2 -- Bowne Global Solutions (BGS), a leading provider of translation, localization, technical writing and interpretation services, announced today that it has appointed Sarah G. Boden to the position of Chief Operating Officer. Boden, who was formerly the Senior Vice President of Business Operations at Thomson Financial, is responsible for refining and implementing the model that drives BGS's revenue and business globally, including the company's operating platform that ensures discipline around workflow processes, production quality and efficiency. "As COO, Sarah brings a wealth of experience to the position and BGS," said Jim Fagan, President and CEO of BGS. "With the help of Sarah's leadership and management we will continue to improve our core competencies and achieve higher levels of quality and performance." For the past six years Boden has worked for The Thomson Corporation, an $8 billion global integrated information solutions provider. With Thomson, she held increasingly important positions in Operations and Technology, Strategy and Business Development and Finance, culminating in her position as Senior Vice President of Business Operations. She has also worked overseas for Thomson as the General Manager of its Shared Service Center in the United Kingdom and for former employer Simon & Schuster, where she was the Group Controller of its International Division based in the UK. Boden has also held positions with Citibank N.A., Shearson Lehman Hutton, Inc., Reliance Group Holdings, Inc. and Deloitte and Touche LLP. She is a graduate of Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
