Press release from the issuing company
ClimatePartner, the environmental protection consultancy headquartered in Munich with a U.S. office in San Francisco, and GFA Consulting Group, a leading certification body headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, have launched an online service for print products where the emissions of an individual print product can be calculated and then compensated for by investing in certified climate protection projects. GFA Consulting Group acts as a support partner for climate neutral printing services provided by ClimatePartner. The new online platform can be found at www.climateneutralprinting.com/gfa.
With the new web-based solution, interested print companies can now calculate the emissions attributable to their production, offer customers the option of climate neutral print products at fair and manageable costs, and compensate the unavoidable CO2 emissions by supporting climate protection projects.
After entering the company's data, printing shops receive a customized company carbon footprint as well as a tool to calculate order specific CO2 emissions, enabling them to print in a climate neutral manner. Furthermore, knowing a printing shop’s carbon footprint is the starting point for making improvements in environmental protection.
“As one of the leading certification bodies in FSC and PEFC certification we want to offer the best service possible to our clients. Products and services that are not included in GFAs portfolio are offered exclusively to our clients through selected partners. Concerning Climate neutral printing, ClimatePartner is the partner of choice for our clients,” explains Carsten Huljus, Program Director GFA Certification of GFA Consulting Group GmbH.
The two partners’ new online platform for climate neutral printing is now being actively offered in Europe and the U.S. At ClimatePartner, the extended collaboration with GFA Consulting Group has been very well received: “This partnership is an important milestone for us. GFA Consulting Group is a very reliable and essential partner,” explains Moritz Lehmkuhl, founder and CEO of ClimatePartner GmbH.
