Tuebingen, Germany (September 26, 2003) – GMG GmbH & Co. KG, an industry leader in color management, control and proofing software, has appointed industry veteran Jim Summers to lead their expansion into North American markets. Summers brings over 20 years of graphic arts business development, marketing, product and technical expertise to the organization, previously working at companies such as Kodak, Linotype/Heidelberg, CAPV, and Banta.
Mr. Summers will be responsible for building a distribution and service network for GMG ColorProof and DotProof digital proofing color management systems, as well as introducing new GMG products to the graphic arts and other related markets.
“U.S. demand for our products are driving our expanded operations. It was evident that, to help fuel growth, we needed to establish representation in the States,” comments GMG CEO, Robert Weihing. “Mr. Summers’ unique business, industry and application experience ideally matches our profile for growth, and we are very pleased to welcome him to our management team.”
“I am excited to be leading GMG’s expansion into the U.S. market,” remarks Summers. GMG is renowned for its color management, proofing and color conversion solutions, in use by the world’s leading printers, publishers, and converters. I hope to help companies in the States realize these same efficiencies, utilizing digital printers for contract proofs.”
