Paramus, N.J. - The National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) is pleased to announce that Mitch Evans, Principal of Mitch Evans Consulting, Palm Beach, Fla., and former President of the National Association of Quick Printers (NAQP), will be working with NAPL as chair of the NAQP Advisory Board to create programs and editorial content specifically geared for the quick/small commercial printer segment of the graphic communications industry.
 
"We are excited that Mitch will be helping us ensure that our products, services, and program offerings are right on target for our quick and small commercial printer members," says Joseph P. Truncale, NAPL President and Chief Executive Officer. "His experience and contacts in this key area are unmatched and will contribute greatly to our ability to recognize and meet the needs of this important industry component."
 
As Advisory Board Chair, Evans will help the group continually assess the requirements of the quick/small commercial printer segment and prepare programs and content for this expanding industry area. "Mitch will work with our volunteer leaders and NAPL staff on a plan of work that delivers programs and services for this segment that are superior to any other offering in our industry," adds Truncale.
 
Evans began his printing career in 1978 when he and his brother, Russ, purchased a small New Jersey quick print shop business with one location, two employees, and sales below $100,000. They guided its growth to six locations with 75+ employees and sales of more than $7.5 million, turning it from a primarily walk-in retail business to a commercial printing and signage company serving companies throughout the New Jersey metro area.
 
Ranked in the top 100 printers by Quick Printing Magazine since 1983. Print Tech was selected by NAQP in 1993 as one of only four "models of excellence" in the quick printing business.
 
"In the 23 years that I owned Print Tech, I have been in the shoes of NAQPs and NAPL's members and have first-hand experience dealing with the day-to-day issues of operating a printing business," says Evans. "I gained an immense knowledge of what it takes to become a profit leader and how to grow a printing business, and have been deeply involved with our printing trade associations during that time, visiting hundreds of print shops-most considered industry leaders.
 
"I know how to expand an industry business," he continues, "and I am looking forward to sharing what I have learned with NAPL's and NAQP's members and helping the Association develop information and programs that will help its quick and small commercial printers add value to their businesses."
 
In 2001, when he sold Print Tech, Evans was awarded Lifetime Membership in NAQP, which he previously served as President, Board Member, Past President, and Vice President of Education, Finance, and Industry Relations. He has also served as President, Treasurer, and Board Member of the Westfield (N.J.) Area Chamber of Commerce; and as President, Trustee, and Membership Chairman for the Executives' Association of New Jersey.
 
He is a member of the Hilton Head Island Bluffton (Fla.) and Savannah (Ga.) Chambers of Commerce, and is also a former President and Trustee of the Westfield College Men's Club, a member of the Board of Directors of the Westfield Y, and Business Chairman of the United Fund of Westfield.
