CHICAGO--Sept. 29, 2003-- As part of a strategic partnership to improve the productivity of print providers, Xerox Corporation and Electronics For Imaging today announced the integration of two powerful production workflow offerings. The integration of Xerox DigiPath Production Software 4.0, part of the Xerox FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection, and EFI Velocity Balance(TM), offers print providers a more powerful and seamless workflow solution that significantly increases productivity, reduces costs and enhances customer service. The new integrated solution can be seen in Xerox's booth (#1016) at the Graph Expo show in Chicago this week. "Xerox is committed to opening our workflow technologies to facilitate integration with our partners. This approach ensures that our customers can get the most out of their business investments," said Mike Kucharski, vice president, Workflow Business Team, Xerox Production Systems Group. "Now, both Velocity and DigiPath will be available to users of EFI Fiery- and Xerox DocuSP-based workflows, enabling print providers to streamline their printing processes, reducing turnaround time and costs, while facilitating growth and increased profitability." Velocity extends DigiPath's capabilities with centralized job management, Fiery job ticketing, additional color processing and automatic job processing capabilities. For Velocity users, DigiPath provides professional-level resources for late-stage editing, scan and make-ready, archiving and other tasks. The integrated systems can support any EFI Fiery- or Xerox DocuSP-driven output device, including members of the Xerox DocuTech, DocuColor, DocuPrint and Document Centre families. The integrated solution is a result of both companies' open strategy to develop scalable, interoperable solutions that tailor to customer needs as part of the Xerox workflow initiative. EFI is among the first of Xerox partners to be provided with the Xerox Print Submission and Management interface to Xerox DigiPath and DocuSP.
