Press release from the issuing company
Venlo, The Netherlands - Following the successful Europe-wide launch, Océ's Managed Print Services offering has now been included in the 2010 edition of the Gartner Magic Quadrant. The Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute. Océ strengths identified by Gartner include thorough process documentation, expertise in printer fleet integration and use of the proven, industry-standard methodologies PRINCE2 and ITIL.
Disciplined, process-based approach
Gartner's Magic Quadrant uses 15 weighted criteria to plot vendors' relative strengths in the market, enabling potential customers to map vendor capabilities against their current and future needs. The identified Océ strengths reflect the company's strong focus on a disciplined, process-based approach, designed to maximize the business value of print and document management while at the same time delivering significant cost savings.
Clear documentation and proven integration capabilities
Gartner states that Océ's clear, detailed documentation of its MPS processes can be valuable for example when using the assessment results to win support from management, business departments and other stakeholders. Another Océ strength is its proven ability to integrate customers' existing printer fleets with their CRD or copy room. Océ can leverage its many years of experience operating customers' CRDs and mailrooms in Europe and North America to provide hands-on service, says Gartner. Furthermore, the fact that Océ has anchored its MPS in industry-standard process methodologies such as ITIL (IT services management) and PRINCE2 (structured project management) helps to win the support of senior IT management.
Successful Europe-wide Océ MPS references
Océ has MPS references in countries across Europe with large national and multinational corporate customers, as well as with healthcare and local government organizations and educational institutes. The diversity of its customer base in terms of location, size, sector and document needs gives the company a strong starting point for delivering optimum solutions in new MPS implementations.
"Océ's MPS offering will be further extended by the integration of additional products, services and support from the Canon portfolio, following completion of the acquisition of Océ by Canon in March 2010," says Jo Bleser, Vice President Business Development, Océ Managed Print Services.
Further development of Océ's managed services
Océ Managed Print Services is a further development of Océ's added-value managed services program. These are provided by an extensive direct sales and support organization with many years of experience in delivering document services to corporate and institutional customers. "Through these services, Océ frees customers from concerns about their print and document infrastructures so they can focus on their own core businesses", added Bleser. "This not only enhances enterprise-wide accessibility of key business information, but also delivers significant operational cost savings." The Océ MPS services range from on-site fleet operation through to total responsibility for all print activities
Up to 30% savings in print-related costs
Customer experience shows that the controlled Océ Managed Print Services environment typically allows print related costs to be reduced by as much as 30%. Savings like these are more important than ever now that companies have cut costs in all other IT related areas, but have yet to seize possible gains in their print processes. Costs are also made transparent and predictable on an enterprise-wide basis, allowing accurate budgeting.
Sustainability benefits reduce ecological footprint
As well as cost savings and efficiency improvements, Océ Managed Print Services offer environmental benefits that help customers to meet their own sustainability goals. For example by rationalizing print workflows, concentrating print volume on energy-efficient devices and reducing unnecessary prints, significant savings can be achieved in energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Océ further focuses on the use of durable materials and recycling of components. By driving sustainable technological development, Océ is committed to reducing its own ecological footprint and helping customers to reduce theirs.
