Press release from the issuing company
Woodridge, IL - TENSOR GROUP, INC. commissioned three web offset 4-color press towers last month at Sté Cherbourgeoise d'éditions, publisher of La Presse de la Manche, a daily newspaper of Cherbourg, France.
The overnight newspaper run produces 30,000-36,000 copies per day of the 32-page broadsheet, with 20 of those pages in 4-color, up from a previous color capacity of 8 pages. The day shift runs 10,000 copies of a 64-page tabloid with 40 pages in color.
Hervé Pannier, Directeur des Services Techniques, La Presse de la Manche, said, "It was a big event for my company to extend our existing Solna pressline with three new T-400 four-high towers and convert our existing Solna tower to the same technical level of the TENSOR towers, allowing us to get 16 additional broadsheet full color pages or 32 full-color tabloid pages. This big step in color capacity was a real benefit for all of our products to be printed in our print shop." Mr. Pannier went on to say, "The choice for TENSOR was done mainly on the high level of automation and integration capability with our Solna press, offering a very efficient and effective operation of the newly reconfigured pressline."
The TENSOR T-400 press towers are equipped with DCOS press controls which integrate and manage the DRCS closed loop register and cutoff, GMI remote inking, Inventor Graphics spray dampening and footprint shaftless drive motors. Three Megtec Amal AR 30 pasters feed the new TENSOR towers.
La Presse de la Manche daily is a branch of "Groupe SIPA Ouest-France", a multi-media company with 5 daily and 60 weekly titles, averaging distribution of 1.1 million copies per day. In addition, Ouest-France's various branches print a large number of weekly free news tabloids.
