Washington - The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) has made available Edward M. Kennedy: Memorial Addresses and Other Tributes at its retail bookstore in Washington, D.C. and online at http://bookstore.gpo.gov. The book is composed of tributes and addresses made by Members of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, Kennedy's legislative achievements while serving in the U.S. Senate, and a transcript of his memorial service. Kennedy was elected to the U.S. Senate to represent Massachusetts in a special election in November 1962, filling the seat vacated by his brother, John F. Kennedy after he was elected President of the United States. Kennedy represented Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate for 47 years before passing away in August 2009.
