Baumer hhs has won for the second time in 2 years the unofficial Pro Carton/Ecma manufacturers award. All ten winners work with gluing and quality assurance components of the German manufacturer. The European Carton Makers Association (ECMA) awarded 10 carton makers from all over Europe for design, consumer attractivity, interaction, impression on shelf and ease of making.

The gluing- and quality assurance system Xtend by Baumer hhs GmbH is tailored to the needs of folding carton makers and allows millimetre precise gluing without contact at any speed from standstill to maximum. This is the starting point for economic production of complex cartons.

A typical system consists of high-pressure glue supply, fast-switching electro-magnetic application guns, glue detection sensors and a graphical user interface that ensures optimal setup times. Even a job change is done by a simple press of a button.

In addition to standard components, special features include side seam bottom gluing with single, double or multi-application heads, which can be individually programmed. Also the latest hotmelt system Xmelt is seamlessly integrated. Thanks to the modular design of the system it can be adapted to satisfy the needs of any production requirements.

Quality Assurance is integral part of the system, being it with or without gluing. Besides verification of all common codes, hot melt or cold glue montitoring and camera verification, there is also a module for automatic ejection of erroneous products following the "Fail Safe" principle with patented ejectors.
