Press release from the issuing company
Dallas – Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), A Xerox Company, today unveiled FHinspector for iPadTM, the first application for the Apple iPad that improves the quality of fire inspections and allows information to be easily shared with firefighters, giving them access to critical data in an emergency.
Part of the FIREHOUSE SoftwareTM suite of offerings, FHinspector for the iPad combines the user-friendly iPad interface with GPS technology and the ability to better perform fire inspections and track key information such as building details, evacuation plans and hydrant locations.
"Firefighters rely on up-to-date inspection data. The FHinspector for iPad provides for seamless scheduling, retrieval and documenting of field inspections without importing and exporting of data associated with traditional mobile tools. This easy-to-use solution ultimately keeps everyone up-to-the-minute on pertinent information for fighting fires," said Charles Albert, chief of administration, St. George Fire Protection District No. 2, Baton Rouge, La.
The complete inspection solution with an iPad and application features:
- GPS to determine a building's location and other useful information for inspectors and firefighters, such as building and business information, business contacts, preplan details and inspection history.
- Standard inspection questionnaire for easy, efficient and quality inspections.
- An inspection summary, which provides a review of the inspection, captures violations and building owner signatures, and sets the next inspection date.
- Instant billing, which sends an automated email invoice for the building owner to pay and then post their fire inspection permit that day.
"The FHinspector iPad solution is an affordable and innovative option that will improve safety and increase productivity," said Joseph Doherty, executive vice president and group president, ACS Government Solutions. "This is another example of our commitment to helping government agencies by developing creative solutions. Fire departments now have a tool to more efficiently manage department operations, including collection of fines for code violations."
