Charlotte, NC – The 2010 Harper Flexographic Solutions Tour, free seminars organized by Harper GraphicSolutions, division of global anilox supplier Harper Corporation, concluded before an enthusiastic crowd October 6 in Somerset, NJ.
This year's Harper seminar tour began in the South in the spring, included several summer visits to Midwest locations and featured well attended sessions on both U.S. coasts. The events focus on an array of flexographic printing issues and practices.
Selected topics appeal to a broad audience – including print managers and supervisors, operators, pre-press managers, designers, ink, plate and pre-press suppliers, general managers and purchasing departments.
At the New Jersey finale, opening remarks by Peter Hartman, Harper VP of Sales, were followed by presentations on ink adhesion and surface tension, use of doctor blades, plate and anilox cleaning systems and a review of the 3DQC anilox inspection device.
The morning session ended with a review of anilox press standardization by Bill Poulson, Harper's Northeast Technical Graphics Advisor, and a look at anilox rolls and high speed presses by Alex James, Eastern Division Technical Graphics Manager at Harper GraphicSolutions.
Afternoon presentations advised attendees on how to maximize the efficiency of next-generation digital plates and provided a comprehensive analysis of available adhesives and coatings for the flexographic market.
"Harper and our co-sponsoring vendor partners are pleased by the turnout and interest shown at this year's seminars," Hartman said. "Besides the obvious networking opportunities, the tour is a reliable source for the latest information on flexo printing; as an industry leader, we view it as an integral part of supporting an expanding industry and the people in it."
