Press release from the issuing company
Ashland NY – HIFLEX, the global technology leader of Web2Print and MIS Solutions for Print, has a busy agenda for Graph Expo 2010. HIFLEX will be demonstrating integration to KBA, Kodak, Agfa, LithoTechnics, Muller Martini and Standard Horizon. HIFLEX will be exhibiting in booth #463 and will also be exhibiting in the KBA booth #1255, the Standard Horizon booth #1244 and the Agfa booth #844 with each of these partner vendors providing an important integration and automation workflow, demonstrated in conjunction with HIFLEX MIS.
HIFLEX North American President & CEO Gary E. Marron comments: "We are pleased and honored with the distinct position of being chosen by each of these leading industry vendors to demonstrate the real JDF integration that HIFLEX and its partners provide. Printers are looking for real and 'on-the-floor' functionality for their businesses and not just talk and hype; they want to see it really working and experience the ROI in their plants and they will see this in the collaboration and demonstrations we collectively will provide."
KBA and HIFLEX are providing a three screen theatre in the KBA booth #1255 where printers will be able to see 'a day in the life of a print job' demonstrated, simulating an actual printing company with very high level automation. HIFLEX will create an on-line order and show the order flow through to both the Kodak Prinergy and Agfa Apogee Prepress Systems where files are uploaded directly from the print buyer to the job and plates made. HIFLEX will then drive the KBA Logotronic Professional System where JDF files from HIFLEX Scheduling are used to automatically set up the entire job to be printed, typically, while a job is being produced and with minimal operator intervention. The Logotronic Professional has the ability to automatically drive over a hundred different press settings, making it the most advanced press automation system on the market. HIFLEX Scheduling will also send JDF to the Muller Martini Automatic Make Ready System or AMYRS for full finishing automation. All of these systems provide JMF back to HIFLEX for real-time costing feedback against estimated jobs."This is truly the world's most advanced workflow system available. We are very excited to bring this advanced automation to our customers which will really help them improve their bottom line profitability." Comments Mark Hischar, KBA North American President & CEO.
HIFLEX and Standard Finishing Systems will be exhibiting together in the Standard Horizon booth #1244, demonstrating live, automated machine set ups of Standard Horizon perfect binders and saddlestitchers via HIFLEX MIS and its JDF production workflow. HIFLEX MIS will be used to create a 20-page self-cover, saddlestitched book and HIFLEX Scheduling will send JDF files of this book to the Standard Horizon 'pXnet' workflow and the StitchLiner 5500. The advanced Standard Horizon Stitcher will consume the HIFLEX JDFs and activate the StitchLiner 5500's servo motors, automatically adjusting the input sheet size, score and fold settings, stitch positions and three-side trim parameters. HIFLEX will also create a 96-page plus cover, perfect bound book and automate the Standard Horizon BQ-270C Perfect Binder and HT-30 Trimmer with the same automation and precision. This advanced HIFLEX and Standard Horizon workflow combination provides printers with a substantial reduction in make-ready times across the bindery. "HIFLEX really understands JDF and workflow automation all the way through to the bindery. The pairing of HIFLEX MIS with the Standard Horizon pXnet bindery control system lets printers leverage their JDF data from the ordering process, into pre-press, the pressroom and then finally to the highest level of post-press automation available" comments David R. Reny, Executive Vice President of Standard.
HIFLEX and Agfa will be exhibiting in the Agfa booth #844 demonstrating the integration they provide. HIFLEX MIS will send JDF's to Agfa's Apogee workflow where Apogee will consume the JDFs and dynamically create complete layouts for all jobs entered. At the same time, HIFLEX will send an email order confirmation and upload link to the print buyer. The buyer will then click on the link and upload files for the job, which then routes them directly to the imposition that was automatically created. All prepress operations are recorded in Apogee and then automatically sent back to HIFLEX MIS via JMF for capturing all of the actual cost bookings. "The HIFLEX MIS and Apogee workflow integration that we will be demonstrating at Graph Expo provide 'lights out automation' that our customers can really count on and that will truly help them automate their ordering processes." Comments Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing, Agfa Corporation of North America.
HIFLEX will be exhibiting its advanced Webshop, Web2Print Software, in booth #463 which won the coveted 2010 PIA InterTech Award for the second time. InterTech Judges, represented by 15-20 Printing Industry Executives, gave the Webshop-Drupal combination a resounding thumbs-up and voted unanimously for the technology's significance. The InterTech Award was given to HIFLEX for the innovation of combining Webshop with the Drupal Open Source Content Management System and for Webshop's unique core JDF technology that enables print-buyers to dynamically create and order hundreds of thousands of print products directly on-line and with zero administrative costs. This is a huge departure from the offering of traditional, 'article-based' Web2Print systems. InterTech Award Judges referred to Webshop as a "Game-Changing and Mind-Shifting Innovation".
