Press release from the issuing company
London, United Kingdom - SMEStorage, the multi-cloud data access provider, has released the fourth beta of a Mac Cloud Drive which enables up to 10 commercial storage providers to be accessed directly from a virtual drive in Mac Leopard and Snow Leopard Operating Systems.
CEO Ian Osborne states, "We are really pleased to announce the fourth and most robust beta of our virtual cloud drive for the Mac. This drive enables users to access their cloud storage files directly from their shell or Mac file manager"
"We have completely re-written huge parts of the drive in this beta to deal with the nuances of Mac Finder. The result is a huge step forward in our goal of having a robust multi-cloud drive for the Mac OSX. The drive now supports the encryption features of our gateway which can overlay any cloud, as well as giving the ability to generate a URL directly from the desktop."
"The term 'Cloud Gateway' is now becoming a recognized term and we believe we are only at the very beginning of users accessing their data in the cloud directly from the desktop rather than storing data on disparate internal servers. Key to an organizations data strategy in the future will be 'Access Anywhere Anytime'".
"Supporting the Mac is a key part of our strategy to enable a robust cloud-to-desktop- environment on WIndows, Mac and Linux and having a client that works on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry".
"The next beta will continue the hardening of the offering and will incorporate sync-to-desktop above all the clouds we support"
