manroland Service Team Adds Value for growing Canadian Printer

Press release from the issuing company

Groupe Ecco is located in the town of Saint-Hyacinthe along the Yamaska river, in a beautiful area near Montreal, The area is well known as a center of agri-business and farming for the province of Quebec and it also boasts an international Agricultural Science Center. Saint Hyacinthe is also the home of the oldest French newspaper in North America, Le Courrier, founded in 1853.

In this fertile environment, Group Ecco is a successful packaging printer with about 100 employees that specializes in labels, boxes and folding cartons for the food industry. After Le Boites Generales purchased Emnballages Ecco, , it combined the two operations with a new name: Groupe Ecco. The management chose manroland printservices to relocate the ROLAND 700 press to the larger facility because they believed in the quality of service provided by manroland.

The printservices team performed an initial evaluation of the press in the production environment. They identified the areas of the press that were not performing to the design specification. During the press move, the manroland team installed the needed repair parts and tuned the press back to factory specifications. When the press was released for production, it was running better than it had run before the move, and it now has the potential to be the best performing 40" press in the shop!

"The manroland service team responded with promptness and professionalism to our needs," said Mr. Francois Emery, Operations Manager for Group Ecco."Since the remarkable intervention of (manroland) technicians, we got back a press that shows great performance."

In addition to the press repair and adjustment, the manroland team worked with the pressroom crew. Pierre Pare, manroland printservices consultant commented, "We demonstrated the ROI on the press rebuild to management and we exceeded our goals for productivity. The inhouse maintenance activities will keep the press running at an optimal level."

"We would like to congratulate (manroland) on a job well done.", wrote Mr. Mario Dumont, Production Manager, Group Ecco.
