Reston, VA - The Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) has announced it will hold its first-ever Scholarship Night event during GRAPH EXPO 2010. The EDSF Scholarship Night will take place Tuesday, October 5, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, after the GRAPH EXPO exhibit hall closes for the day. GRAPH EXPO 2010, the year's largest graphic communications exhibition and conference in the Americas, will take place October 3-6, 2010, in Chicago's McCormick Place South.
Each year, EDSF provides scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 to students studying for careers in the document management and graphic communications industry. Themed "Give Back at GRAPH," the EDSF Scholarship Night is aimed at increasing awareness of the need for industry scholarships, and to encourage greater industry participation in raising funds for EDSF's scholarship program.
"It's hard to imagine a more challenging business environment than what we are currently experiencing," observed Brenda Kai, Executive Director at EDSF. "Despite all the uncertainty, however, there remains a critical need to attract and foster the development of the next generation of business professionals. We are delighted to be coming to GRAPH EXPO to host 'Give Back at GRAPH.' It's a wonderful opportunity to show support for students needing scholarship assistance and to help shape the future generation."
"We are pleased to welcome EDSF's inaugural Scholarship Night at GRAPH EXPO," said Ralph Nappi, President of GASC. "With GRAPH EXPO being the premier event for the graphic communications and document management industry, it is only fitting that this event takes place in tandem with GRAPH EXPO 2010. All of us can remember back to when we were first starting out in our careers, and the amount of support that we received from mentors and industry veterans. The EDSF Scholarship Night provides an ideal opportunity to give back, help mentor the next generation of graphic communications professionals, and support the future of our industry."
"Give Back at GRAPH" will include a cocktail hour, where professionals can network with other high-level industry executives; a plated dinner; a keynote speaker and student testimonials; plus silent and live auctions of industry products and services and national sports-team memorabilia. Close to 500 guests are expected at the event; all interested graphic communications professionals are invited to attend.
