CPCC Flexographic class provides mix of classroom and hands-on training

Press release from the issuing company

Charlotte, NC – The Flexographic Concepts course at Central Piedmont Community College continues to be a valued resource for new and experienced employees at global anilox supplier Harper Corporation.

Most recently, 11 Harper employees from locations in Charlotte and Green Bay, WI, completed the comprehensive course held at CPCC's Harper Campus. To ensure maximum student participation, the community college limits class size.

The eight-hour class – with its comprehensive overview of all phases of flexographic printing processes – is taught by faculty from the school's Graphics Arts and Imaging Technology Department.

Course instruction highlights differences between flexo processes, teaches students about the making and mounting of plates, printing on substrates, effective set-up, registering and printing of single- and multi-color jobs and techniques for proper cleanup and storage of inks, paper and equipment. Safety is emphasized throughout.

"For us, especially for our employees, the CPCC Flexographic Concepts class is one of the most effective and up-to-date introductions to methods and procedures for flexographic printing professionals available anywhere," said Jan Kimble, Harper Human Resources Director.
