Press release from the issuing company
Itasca, IL - Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, announced today that Nashville, TN-based Ambrose Printing Co., a commercial printer specializing in religious publishing, retail communications and educational testing, has purchased and installed a Xeikon digital color press.
Ambrose Printing is a 145-year-old company which handles commercial printing, labels, kits and fulfillment for several diverse markets including sports publishing, religious publishing, educational booklets and point of purchase printing.
John Ambrose, CEO of Ambrose Printing, said many of his company's customers are looking to print on a variety of formats, and the Xeikon technology emerged as the ideal solution due to its format flexibility. Xeikon digital color presses can easily produce 20-inch wide application pieces and do not impose any limitations on the length of the printed image.
"Xeikon is the only toner based digital color press available on the market that has no frame or sheet size restrictions, and produces offset-like quality," Ambrose said. "In addition, it prints on both sides of the substrate at the same time and has little to no makeready time, which allows us to be more productive and efficient. There is no other press out there that offers the same combination of productivity and image quality." The Xeikon technology also offers the additional advantage of being able to print on a variety of media, including coated and uncoated paper, with media weights ranging from 40 gsm/27 lb text to 350 gsm/130 lb cover.
Ambrose added that the Xeikon press allows them to take on short to medium run jobs involving variable data printing, which the company could not deliver cost-effectively prior to installing the press.
"We're excited to be working with Ambrose Printing. They have a long history of printing innovation, and having personally observed John Ambrose's passion for excellence, I am confident that he will continue to be incredibly successful," said Todd Blumsack, Vice President of Sales, Xeikon North America. "A company that has been in business for 145 years clearly realizes that to stay competitive and achieve long term success, you have to adapt to your customers' changing needs. We are confident that with the Xeikon technology, Ambrose Printing will further grow their business and expand into new market opportunities."
