The Print Technology Center (PTC) in Offenbach provides ideal conditions for learning about best practice technology in sheetfed offset printing and testing it very thoroughly.

From development right through to marketability, the Print Technology Center offers a comprehensive proposition that links all disciplines: mechanics, electronics, process technology, and extensive know-how in prepress and printing. Here customers together with manroland develop new technical solutions or test process-compliant system components under genuine printing plant conditions. Gerhard Augsberg (51) has been the Vice President in charge of the PTC for the past 16 years and has now passed the baton to Stephan Engel (44). Augsberg is now based at Offenbach headquarters and responsible for sheetfed press sales in Germany, Turkey, and Eastern and Northern Europe: "Exciting markets in challenging times – that suits me just fine. Especially with our VAP philosophy I see many great possibilities for the customers." Augsberg's predecessor in this position, Jürgen Holtrode (49), will in future concentrate on large-format press sales: "With the world premiere of the ROLAND 900, XXL format 8 perfector, manroland is setting new efficiency standards in large-format sheetfed offset printing. Now is a rewarding time to take on this new career challenge.

Augsberg looks forward to using the services of the Print Technology Center in future in his Sales Vice President role: "For more than 40 years, the Print Technology Center has been an established meeting point for print experts from all over the world. There, as in the rest of the company, the focus is on Value Added Printing. The qualified team advises customers on all aspects of printing so they can produce better and less expensively. Organizing and running events in the PTC always gave me a lot of satisfaction." Stephan Engel is tackling his new assignment with enthusiasm and ambitious plans: "With individualized customer events but also with comprehensive forums such as PraxisSeminars, manroland has actively promoted know-how exchange for years and thus gained a fine reputation.
