Rochester, N.Y. - Mexia, Texas-based The Mexia News achieved cost and sustainability goals by installing solutions from Kodak. This brand new newspaper printing facility worked with Kodak to get its operations off the ground in the past year.

During the fall of 2009, The Mexia News added a KODAK TRENDSETTER NEWS Thermal Platesetter with KODAK PF-N Non Process Plates, KODAK PRINERGY EVO Workflow and KODAK PREPS Imposition Software. For The Mexia News, going non process was a major factor in choosing Kodak. The ease of working with one vendor for a comprehensive, space-saving digital solution was also appealing.

"The fact that Kodak offered a non process solution was the key in our decision-making process," said Jim Moser, owner, The Mexia News. "For us, just getting started and not having to deal with chemicals was a huge plus. "We've been very pleased that we're getting a great print job each time, in terms of cost and quality. We anticipated there would be some savings with the platesetter, but not nearly as much as we've seen so far," said Moser. "For a small press operation like ours, saving time and energy is very important. In the long-term, I think we're going to see some big cost efficiencies."
