Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. releases new "Respect Nature" paper promotion

Press release from the issuing company

Monadnock Paper Mills, Inc. recently released a new Graphic Arts Printing Paper promotion, "Respect Nature." Part one of the new series, "Respect Your Brand," this poster demonstrates both the awesome power and beauty of nature. With respect and sustainability in mind, this poster is printed on Monadnock Astrolite PC 100, 100lb. Text, one of the brightest 100% Post-Consumer Recycled paper available. It is a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified paper, Manufactured Carbon Neutral with 100% Renewable Electrical Energy. In fact, an average of 50% of Monadnock's annual electrical usage is generated by mill-owned, low-impact, run-of-the-river hydroelectric generators.

"Respect Nature" offers several print demonstrations featuring high-resolution, multi-color printing. Print techniques in this poster include tri-tone, four-color process, four-color process with touch plates and four-color process with high-fidelity green and orange inks. The paper was printed on an 8-color press using soy-based, low-VOC content inks with an overall aqueous protective topcoat applied on each side. The variations in print techniques provide practical assessments of what these techniques impart to a variety of image types.

The brochure is a single sheet of paper folded numerous times both with and across the grain using 1pt. and 2pt. rules in the die press. Even with this extensive folding, no cracking occurred at the folds. This is a highly demanding converting test for any paper, but especially for a 100% Post-Consumer Recycled paper.

Monadnock Astrolite PC 100 is one of the cleanest and brightest Post-Consumer Recycled papers available and holds the distinction of being the first 100% Post-Consumer Recycled paper to be FSC certified in the United States. Monadnock is also an ISO 14001: 2004 certified company. No other premium non-integrated paper mill in the United States has earned this certification. The ISO 14001:2004 program focuses on continuous improvement to all company environmental impacts.

"Respect Nature" is available from your local paper merchant or the mill.
