Fairfax, Virginia - SGIA is presenting the Journey to Sustainability - Beyond Paper and Packaging Conference in cooperation with Printing Industries of Wisconsin, Flexographic Technical Association and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.    

The one-day conference opens with a presentation by Mark McDermid, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). He will focus on how DNR is seeking ways to bring sustainability into a more clear and precise view, and will discuss how the printing industry relates to:     
- Five elements of sustainability identified by the industry as needing government attention.          
- Printing industry reactions to tools and approaches that have been used for sustainability.      
- Printing industry needs and expectations for sustainability work.       

The conference also features in-depth educational sessions through the day that target key issues about incorporating sustainable practices into your specialty imaging business. Presentations include: Corporate Sustainability Strategies, Energy Efficiencies as well as a panel session featuring industry peers discussing how they integrated sustainability into their printing operation.
