Starburst Printing and Graphics expands with Komori Spica 29 Perfector

Press release from the issuing company

Rolling Meadows, IL – Komori America, a premier manufacturer of sheetfed and web offset printing presses, today announced Starburst Printing and Graphics has installed a fully automated five-color, Komori Spica 29 (Spica 529P) press with perfecting capabilities at its facility in Holliston, Mass. Located twenty minutes southwest of Boston, Starburst Printing and Graphics serves the pharmaceutical and technology industries, as well as many other verticals that have a high demand for personalized service and quality work.  Primarily a spot color and digital print shop in the past, the advanced automation of the Spica 529P makes it possible for the company to expand its business offerings when it comes to color capabilities and offer faster turnaround with the Spica's full CIP4 data compatibility that allows implementation of advanced digital workflow.

"The installation of the Spica 529P allows us to continue to offer high-quality color work in line with that of our digital presses but on a much larger scale," said Jason Grondin, vice president of Starburst Printing and Graphics. "It's small footprint fits perfectly in our facility and because it is such a versatile press, it can compete across a larger spectrum of work. Having the Spica 529P better positions us to be more competitive, but more importantly, have full control of all of our customers work to ensure it meets the quality they require."

As an ISO 9001 print supplier, Starburst Printing and Graphics is serious about its quality as well as its corporate responsibility and it practices sustainable efforts at every level of production. The Spica 29 Perfector contributes to the company's green initiatives through the Komorimatic dampening system that enables environmentally friendly non-alcohol printing.

"We are very excited that the Spica 29 will allow Starburst Printing and Graphics to expand its business offerings," said Jacki Hudmon, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Komori America. "This is a company that is known for being very customer-driven. Having the ability to provide an even higher level of customer service with our press will only add to that reputation."
