IPEX, Birmingham, UK - Print On-Demand Solutions Group and Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH will demonstrate the IC-307 Print Controller, Powered by CREO Color Server Technology, at the 2010 IPEX show. The new digital front end is in the late stages of development and will be released later this year, along with the upcoming release of the new flagship color digital press from Konica Minolta, the BIZHUB PRESS C8000. In addition, IC-307 Print Controller will support KONICA MINOLTA BIZHUB PRESS C6000, C7000, and C7000P, to be launched later this year.
Geared to support Konica Minolta's continuous strengthening of its foothold in the print production market, the new CREO Color Server is exceptional in its workflow connectivity via built-in JDF capabilities and comprehensive variable data printing (VDP) functionality. Konica Minolta's customers will be able to integrate with a variety of professional workflows with open connectivity using JDF standards, such as KODAK PRINERGY Workflow, AGFA :APOGEE System, and others. The IC-307 Print Controller will enable print service providers to manage their offset and digital workflows from one central point, while benefitting from the renowned easy-to-use GUI.
The well-known advanced color management tools will continue to improve print output quality and include: superior default color settings, easy color calibration, last minute color correction features, spot-color editing, and correct gradation without re-RIPing. Like its predecessors, the IC-307 Print Controller also supports all of the production printing systems' comprehensive finishing capabilities, including the Perfect Binder Finisher with the ability print variable information on the spine.
Support for ADOBE PDF Print Engine 2: Supporting Workflows of the Future
The IC-307 Print Controller will support ADOBE PDF Print Engine 2, the foundation of next-generation PDF print workflows. With accurate, native rendering of PDF files, even complex designs with graphically rich content are reproduced quickly and reliably. With The IC-307 Print Controller, PDF Print Engine 2 consistently delivers true colour fidelity, based on modern, ICC-based colour management, while leveraging the full colour capabilities of the press.

IC-307 and IC-304 Plus Print Controllers, Powered by Creo Color Server Technology, will be demonstrated at the Konica Minolta stand (9-DE340) at IPEX.
