Press release from the issuing company
Leading photo book software manufacturer, TAOPIX, has implemented its first Multisite Production photo book solution across six sites on behalf of GDL-Colourlink.
Multisite Production is ideally suited to large print and photo lab companies and franchises looking for a cost-effective 'hub and spoke' multisite photo book operation. The application is an extension of the TAOPIX Photobook solution and can be run via a central in-house IT operation or remotely via a data centre, reducing the administrative and commercial costs associated with multiple single site software licenses.
GDL-Colourlink is a non-profit making buying organisation which represents a network of digital print companies across the UK. Its members benefit from combined marketing and volume discounts on all purchases from paper to digital presses.
GDL's Managing Director, Graham Baulch, says "We looked at a number of photo book software manufacturers, but really there was only one solution that fulfilled our requirements and that was TAOPIX. We were looking for a robust, cost-effective, Mac and PC platform that would work across multiple production sites. We also identified a need for a download model that would enable photo book creation off-line as the on-line solutions available were too slow and impractical when dealing with multiple high-res images."
Says Neil Bather, on behalf of TAOPIX UK "GDL's decision to choose TAOPIX is significant. The GDL organisation collectively has a very high level of technical knowledge and I know they evaluated the photo book opportunity thoroughly. To have opted for Multisite Production as their preferred platform not only confirms our belief that our product is a market leader but also that photo book production presents a real opportunity to make money in today's market."
Multisite Production will make its UK debut on the TAOPIX stand at IPEX.
