Neenah Paper announces alliance with Schneider Logistics

Press release from the issuing company

Alpharetta, Ga. - Neenah Paper has selected Schneider Logistics as its Third-Party Logistics (3PL) provider to manage all transportation functions and says the partnership will not only enhance the customer experience, but yield significant environmental savings.

As part of the agreement, Neenah is now using Schneider's proprietary suite of software, including its Transportation Management System.  This will allow Neenah and Schneider to manage everything from demand planning to load optimization and even reporting.  All of the tools are integrated to give end-to-end planning, execution and visibility across Neenah's transportation and logistics operations.  In essence, the software helps ensure that all aspects of the supply chain run smoothly, so that every shipment is delivered on time in the most cost-efficient and effective manner possible.

Renee Schwartz, director of supply chain for Neenah Paper, explained that as the company evaluated its transportation management system, "we realized we needed to incorporate cutting-edge technology and processes into this aspect of our business. It just made sense to align ourselves with a proven leader like Schneider whose team will give us new ideas and solutions and help us provide better, faster and more transparent services to our customers, all while fitting within our environmental goals."

Immediate Advantages for Customers
One of the most visible aspects of the new partnership is the complete transparency available to track customer orders.

"With Schneider's Track-and-Trace (STAT) system, our customers will know exactly when their order left the warehouse, exactly where it is en route, and when it will arrive.   STAT gives us real-time tracking information which helps us to proactively manage our service," Schwartz added.

With this type of real-time visibility, Neenah can more quickly implement solutions to prevent possible future delays.  Another customer advantage will result from load optimization.  Through dynamic modeling, Schneider creates the most optimal routes for Neenah orders resulting in reduced shipping times and improved on-time service.

In addition, Schneider's ability to capture and mine service metrics at a granular level will allow Neenah to create customer-specific service scorecards.  This added capability will help Neenah and its customers better understand where opportunities exist for future service enhancements.
