Atlantic Zeiser GAMMA 70 and 140 series to be demonstrated at IPEX

Press release from the issuing company

Emmingen, Germany - Atlantic Zeiser Group, a leading innovator and technology supplier for digital narrow format-, packaging and direct product printing processes, today announced it will be demonstrating its innovative GAMMA 70 and GAMMA 140 printer family at IPEX, in Hall 6, Stand C557.  GAMMA 70, introduced to the market during 2009 in North American and European trade shows, combines Atlantic Zeiser innovation with Xaar print head technology for a powerful end-to-end solution that includes a UV printer, UV inks, and UV drying capability. GAMMA 70 is available in two models:  GAMMA 70S (standard) and GAMMA 70P (premium).

"The GAMMA 70 family of printers is finding a welcome home in many packaging operations, including pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food packaging," said Ralph Hipp, Vice President of Digital Systems, "but it is also suitable for use in other printing segments. Customers are benefiting from exceptional ink adhesion even on challenging porous and non-porous substrates, including plastics and films, metallic foils, cardboard and paper. They are also able to bring complex production in-house cost-effectively, producing full color variable labels with a stunning visual quality of 1060 dpi. We are excited to see the reception this unique solution will receive from visitors to our stand at IPEX."

Product Details
The GAMMA 70 Series, based on the proven capability of GAMMA printing systems already in use in the ID card market, is the perfect solution for a wide range of applications in the narrow printing market that will support users in increasing both margins and productivity. The GAMMA 70 Series combines Xaar 1001 print heads with Atlantic Zeiser controller and data preparation software. It is ideally suited for a wide range of markets such as packaging, labeling, commercial print, in-plant printing of consumer goods, security print and card printing.

This high-speed, single-pass UV solution incorporates Xaar 1001 grayscale print heads to produce stunning quality at a high-resolution of 360 dpi that visually appears to be as much as 1060 dpi.  With a print width of 70.5mm (2.8 in), the GAMMA 70 can be integrated in-line with sheetfed or web systems.

The variable drop capability of the industrial-strength Xaar 1001 printhead consistently produces smooth tone graphics, fine detail, sharp text and barcodes to generate great results quickly, cost-effectively and reliably. The GAMMA 70 Series is also highly flexible as an industrial-level full-color marking system. A choice of UV curing systems is also available to suit specific applications. These include Atlantic Zeiser's new eco-friendly SMARTCURE LED UV curing system for temperature sensitive products. LED UV curing is especially suited to thin materials that can be damaged by heat used in traditional label-based UV curing.

The GAMMA 70 Series is capable of operating in a single-pass printing process at a top speed of 24m/minute.

Four Models Available
The GAMMA 70 and GAMMA 140 are available in two models for each print width:
GAMMA 70S/140S is the standard model for wet-on-wet printing in the pattern application process;
GAMMA 70P/140P is the premium model well suited for both pinning and wet-on-wet for sharp texts, barcodes, pictures and fine details and logotypes.

The systems are compact in size, which is especially important to space-constrained facilities. The GAMMA 70 Series can be installed on a complete web system as a standalone system; leveraged as part of an integration package for OEM integration on a wide range of label machinery, or integrated by end users into existing analog systems.

"Early customer feedback has been exceptional," added Hipp. "By bringing the GAMMA 70 Series to IPEX, Atlantic Zeiser will be educating users across a broader swath of the market, from packaging and labeling to product printing and commercial printing, about the benefits they can achieve by adding this outstanding solution to their production mix."
