Press release from the issuing company
Palo Alto, CA – HP today announced a new ColorPRO Technology licensing agreement with Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers and the launch of a new ColorPRO media for use with the HP T300 Color Inkjet Web Press.
Georgia-Pacific's new Spectrum Web Inkjet roll media, which feature ColorPRO Technology, are designed to deliver visibly improved print quality in pigment-ink inkjet systems, providing high-performance results in book publishing, graphic communications and variable-data print applications. Spectrum Web Inkjet provides additional value for HP T300 users, giving them the flexibility to cost-effectively print higher-coverage(1) uncoated-media jobs.
"Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers is investing in digital printing's growth by adopting ColorPRO Technology and launching its first ColorPRO media," said Aurelio Maruggi, vice president and general manager, Inkjet High-speed Production Solutions, HP. "With Spectrum Web Inkjet, our growing install base of North American HP T300 customers can refine their media and supplies usage to maximize profitability without compromising on quality."
ColorPRO Technology: a media solution for digital growth
ColorPRO Technology represents a quality standard for color excellence in digital printing based on a set of paper enhancement technologies and strictly defined performance specifications. Papers with ColorPRO Technology deliver visibly enhanced print quality including more striking colors, crisper text and graphics, and higher-contrast blacks when compared to standard, uncoated offset and untreated bond papers.
Paper manufacturers can license ColorPRO Technology to create high-performance media for inkjet systems. Their customers, in turn, can gain profit opportunities without sacrificing quality by switching to lighter grades of ColorPRO paper. With ColorPRO papers, HP T300 users also gain the option of printing without using the press's Bonding Agent supplies.
Spectrum Web Inkjet with ColorPRO Technology is now available in the United States for purchase from Georgia-Pacific. This new product helps print service providers gain more value in their transition of print work from analog offset to digital production.
"We engineered this new line of digital papers to excel in applications for the emerging inkjet web printing presses," said Jim Lagerbloom, Director-Converting Products, Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers. "These new papers join our current offering of Spectrum Offset and Spectrum MOCR Laser grades to provide a solid family of papers for business and commercial roll printing needs."
Georgia-Pacific Communication Papers, a leading provider of business and printing papers in North America, markets a wide range of high-quality cut size and roll products designed to meet users' large- and small-volume needs in busy print environments.
