October 3, 2003 – CHICAGO – RealTimeImage used Graph Expo 2003 to debut a “multiple-view” and “Compare” feature set permitting simultaneous streaming, viewing, collaboration on, annotation and comparison of several images, in high resolution, for the RealTimeProof online proofing product line. The “Compare” function not only identifies and highlights version differences, it will also create and stream the “difference” between the selected two versions - on the fly - to the viewer(s), enabling an extremely efficient and accurate proofing workflow. Executive Vice President Yehuda Messinger says the feature set was developed to answer critical needs of publishers and packagers. The company has also added an approval function that can be used on the file itself (serving as an approval stamp); variable grid options; Mac OS X support, and file format support for Agfa and Electronics For Imaging’s (EFI) Best workflows.
“Our goal is to make the online approval experience as comfortable and efficient as possible,” says Messinger. “The technology that makes RealTimeProof a valid, profitable operation is already proven. Now we’re advancing the approval tools, which further streamline the online proofing workflow, and make it even more friendly and open to all users.” Messinger continues to say that the new developments will further strengthen the company’s leadership position in this continuously growing segment. RealTimeImage, which powers thousands of online proofing workflows worldwide both directly and via its numerous OEM partners, is a 2003 GATF InterTech Award winner.
Multiple-View and Compare Benefit Overview
RealTimeProof can now provide design, production, and management professionals the ability to examine and compare every segment of the same or different images, down to the smallest pixel. Any number of people canwork together, simultaneously, to view, annotate, and approve several images concurrently.
- Use Full RealTimeProof Toolbar on All Images (Densitometer, Zoom, View Separations, etc.)
- Link-Views allows concurrent application of the proofing tools (Zoom,Pan, Rotate, etc.) on all viewed images
- Compare Function Allows Version and File Comparison, by Streaming the “Difference” Between Two Hi-Res Images, or Highlighting These Differences in a Separate Window
Messinger says that customer research shows that the Compare function will generate a lot of excitement, given its power to maximize approval process accuracy, minimize errors, and consequently save substantial time and money.
