Papierfabrik Scheufelen raises prices

Press release from the issuing company

For months now, prices have been decreasing in a tense coated fine paper market. In addition there has been a considerably negative effect on the profit situation due to huge increases in the price of key raw materials, especially pulp and chemicals. Even drastic cost reduction processes have failed to make up for the critical factors caused by market weakness, the fall in prices and increases in costs.

Papierfabrik Scheufelen, Lenningen, intends to continue providing its customers with leading quality products and reliable service in this ex-tremely demanding environment.

For those very reasons we cannot avoid adjusting prices. That is why from 1st of March 2010 Scheufelen is raising the prices for delivery of its coated woodfree paper in reels and sheets by 10 - 12%. This ap-plies to every country.

In addition, Scheufelen will carry on adjusting its production capacity to the current market situation. Further to this measure Hariolf Koeder, Director Sales and Marketing at Scheufelen, stresses: "This measure is long overdue and will bring our company's price level to just under what it was a year ago."
