Press release from the issuing company
Leading independent paper merchant Premier Beswick, part of the Premier Paper Group, has sponsored employee Simon Bennett, who is undertaking an enormous feat for the Help for Heroes charity by trekking to Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal, which is at a height of 5,585 metres.
Simon, who is known as "Ben" to customers and staff alike, works at Premier Beswick's Cheltenham branch as a driver/warehouseman, was previously a member of Her Majesty's Armed Forces where he served as a Physical Training Instructor for 4th Field Royal Artillery Regiment – "The North East Gunners".
Simon says he has always maintained a high level of contact with his fellow service pals, some of who went on to become Sergeant Majors and most of them have seen active services in places such as Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan to mention a few.
"Because of these reasons I decided that I wanted to try and raise some funds to help the families and the injured soldiers. The charity that I have chosen is "HELP FOR HEROES"."
So, on 25th March 2010 Simon will be heading out to Nepal, on a self-financed trip, and undertaking his enormous task to get to Mount Everest Base Camp.
The "HELP FOR HEROES" charity helps all of our armed forces and their families after injury or death, so Simon says that to him every penny raised will count. "As our troops are shedding blood, sweat and tears for us back home, I shall shed a lot of sweat and possibly some tears to help them!"
