Press release from the issuing company
Polestar has been working closely with the suppliers of MemoStick with a shared objective to improve the appeal and quality of the advertising medium. New features now include die cutting, scratch card applications, perforations and sequential numbering. The adhesive strip has also been improved to ensure it no longer tears or damages light weight or coated paper stocks when the note is removed.
Utilising Ferag Leporello applicators, incorporating an Accraply device on its Ferag Unidrum lines, Polestar is able to apply MemoSticks either within a section or to the cover of magazines and newspaper supplements. The applicators are mobile and can be moved within the group to attach to finishing lines in its binderies at Polestar Colchester, Polestar Petty and Polestar Sheffield.
Jeff White of Polestar Sheffield says: "Polestar was one of the pioneers of Post It Note applications over ten years ago, and we have continued to work with publishers on this initiative ever since. However, the added value features available now have really caught the imagination of advertisers and we have successfully applied some two million MemoSticks in the last couple of weeks."
He continues: "The improved range of features, coupled with the cost effectiveness of the process, are obviously the main attractions to advertisers and publishers alike. The simplicity and ease of operation of the Leporello applicator allows us to maintain consistently high hit rates without any detriment to our stitching speeds, ensuring we continue to meet our customers' deadlines and schedules and enabling us to pass on the cost savings achieved."
