Harperscientific Portable Proofer System gets big reaction at Labelexpo 2009

Press release from the issuing company

Charlotte, N.C. – What is billed as the world's largest show for the label, product decoration, web printing and converting industry served as the backdrop for introduction of the world's first fully portable proofing system, a creation of HarperScientific.

The printing and coating supplies division of global anilox roll supplier Harper Corporation of America made the first public display of its Phantom QD Quick Drawdown Proofing System at last month's  Labelexpo Europe 2009 show in Brussels.

Though the visitor count fell short of the crowds two years ago, exhibitors reported a generally positive experience and noticed a large turnout of label industry professionals who seemed confident a global economic recovery is underway. "The Phantom QD was well received and generated much interest from the customers and vendors who visited our booth," said Alexander James, Technical Graphic Manager of Harper GraphicSolutions.

The new Phantom QD is equipped with its own pressure loading system. Features include a magnetic-loaded doctor blade, quick-change anilox and rubber rollers and roller interchangeability with Echocel Junior and Phantom hand proofers. The new system requires no compressed air or electricity for operation. It's easy to use whenever a draw down ink proof is needed.

Company representatives demonstrated the new proofing system at the Harper Graphics GmbH booth at the expo.

"We developed the Phantom QD drawdown proofing system as an advancement that qualifies as both an exciting innovation and a practical solution and judging by the initial response at Labelexpo Europe, our projections were right on target," said Jim Harper, Vice President of HarperScientific.
