New Orleans, LA (SGIA) - Agfa Graphics announced today that Signco Inc., a family-owned Chicago-based sign shop, recently installed  the :Anapurna M4f UV inkjet printing system. The :Anapurna M4f is a high-quality cost-effective UV inkjet printer designed to produce POP, displays, posters, signage, banners and more.
 
For over 22 years Signco Inc.  had built a solid reputation and customer base by producing high-quality electrical signage, vehicle lettering and other custom work. However, early in 2009 Signco Inc. lost jobs due to economic pressures and undercutting from local competition. In an effort to address both concerns, management decided to invest in the business, move away from their inefficient roll-to-roll printer and develop new revenue streams. The management team began an expansive search and eventually observed the output of the :Anapurna M4f at a local company. According to Tony Morrone, President of Signco Inc., "My father and grandmother started this business and we had a solid handle on electrical signage but we wanted to expand into digital. We chose the :Anapurna M4f because it produced high quality output without banding.The :Anapurna M4f is an economical solution but we're not sacrificing quality. We also chose this machine because of its outstanding resolution with outdoor durability. We are primarily printing outdoor products with this machine. That was the clincher to move us into the flatbed arena."
 
In mid-May 2009, as Signco prepared for the installation of the new equipment, management also decided to completely revamp the facility to include a showroom, workstations, design/art room, cafeteria and storage. Morrone added, "It was risky, but we wanted to take care of our customers and employees going forward and we needed to do right. We completed construction and installation back in June and we're not losing jobs anymore. Jobs that used to take us 2-3 hours are now done in 20 minutes! So now because of our improved turnaround time and competitive pricing we are blowing out the competition!"
