Océ Wins $70 Million Worth of Document Processing Outsourcing Deals
Press release from the issuing company
NEW YORK – Océ Business Services, a leader in document process management and electronic discovery, today announced that during the past 12 months it has won contracts totaling over $70 million to manage complex, high-volume document processing center operations. The multi-year agreements include managing document processing centers that support critical business processes for pre-eminent companies such as American Airlines, one of the world’s largest airlines that contributes more than $150 billion per year to the U.S. economy. Other agreements include leaders in the insurance, retail, entertainment and technology industries.
"These new business wins are significant because they underscore our expertise in managing comprehensive document processing center operations for leading companies across the U.S.," said Joseph R. Marciano, president and CEO of Océ Business Services. "The agreements also reinforce our ongoing commitment to provide Océ Business Services’ clients with innovative document process management solutions that will increase effectiveness, reduce costs, and minimize risk."
Under the agreements, Océ is managing a wide range of document processing center activities, including the following:
- Managing a document processing center operation that includes printing product manuals for the largest division of one client. The Océ solution involves printing several million pages per month that comprise the manuals, each of which range from two to 100 pages. This high-volume printing process, which utilizes Océ VarioPrint 6200s, is significantly cutting costs while improving operational quality.
- Installing Océ VarioPrint equipment with superior duplex printing, a key element helping one client improve its handling of web-based orders. Océ Business Services’ overall solution is also helping the client reduce service calls through improved operational efficiency.
- Streamlining copier fleets by replacing standalone copiers with networked multi-function devices (MFDs) that combine print/copy/fax/scan capabilities into one machine shared by employees. Océ is "right sizing" one client’s fleet from a ratio of one standalone printer per five users to one MFD per 26 users, providing significant gains in document process efficiency.
In addition to its new business wins, Océ Business Services was recently named to the top-ranked Leaders Category of the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals’ (IAOP™) 2009 Global Outsourcing 100™ list. This is the third straight year in which Océ has been ranked a Leader on The Global Outsourcing 100.
