Fry Communications Begins install of Komori Press

Press release from the issuing company

Mechanicsburg, PA -- Fry Communications (www.frycomm.com) announces the purchase of a superior quality sheetfed press from Komori. The press is equipped with multiple in-line finishing units including cold foil, multiple UV coaters, emboss/deboss units and a die cut unit. Installation has begun in Fry’s Mechanicsburg, PA, facility.

This press, the first installation of its kind in the world, will allow customers to easily add unique coating finishes, foil stamping, die cutting, embossing or debossing, and other special effects to printed products, covers, inserts, and direct mail pieces. What was formerly accomplished on multiple pieces of equipment, or sometimes multiple vendors in different locations, will now be done in-line. Consequently, Fry’s customers will benefit with an economical and expedient solution to produce standout high quality products with a trusted supplier. The benefits for demanding print buyers are enormous. No more searching for specialty vendors, or worrying about the hazards of shipping from vendor to vendor, or coordinating production specifications and schedules to meet a commitment date.

“This press is a testament to the continuous innovation at Fry and the enthusiastic pursuit by our manufacturing leadership to serve the needs of our customers, collaborate with suppliers to innovate, and reach beyond the norm and continue to introduce new and innovative solutions,” said Steve Grande, Fry’s VP of Sales. “This one is a real wow!”

The addition of this press to Fry’s campus underscores the company’s commitment to creating the nation’s most modern high quality manufacturing facility. Other high end production options include PUR binding, selective polybagging with wide swathe personalization, book-quality perfect binding, and closed loop color/register controls on every color press.
