Axode: Heart of French Treasury document workflow

Press release from the issuing company

Our partner Nipson Digital Printing Systems has won the bid to supply high-speed digital printing systems for the French Treasury (D.G.C.P: Direction Générale de la Comptabilité Publique).

The elements of the solution adopted by the D.G.C.P. were, in addition to the 2 Nipson Varypress 400 lines, Axode SAFE integrity/track & trace solution.
The document workflow production of the D.G.C.P. (workflow control, management of the messages, page layout, preparation, sorting, protocol setup...) consists in the daily printing of maximum 9 million pages (equivalent to A4), compiled by addressee.
Indeed, contrary to usual printing campaigns which consist in printing documents according to their type and format, the D.G.C.P. has decided to manage its printing campaigns according to the addressees, meaning that the various types of documents are printed within the same workflow and inserted in the same envelope (optimizing the postal costs).

To date, the D.G.C.P. prints about 1 200 different types of documents.

At the beginning of 2009, the first two printing lines have been launched in the Burgundy area, which has been chosen to host in the near future the entire document production of the French Treasury.
The Axode solution, based on its top of the range Axode 1080 system coupled with a real time database management, guarantees the control in line of all the strategic fixed and variable areas on the documents, at a speed of 150 metres per minute.

Thanks to the Axode solution, the D.G.C.P. has reached an unrivalled productivity. Indeed, depending on the type of detected errors, the Axode solution can either stop the machine to avoid paper waste (in case of a duplex mismatch), or track and reject the faulty document at the inserter in case of a minor or isolated error, avoiding unnecessary production stops.

All erroneous documents are automatically reprinted in a new production workflow.

For 2009, the D.G.C.P. wishes to add to these first two avant-gardist installations another two printing lines.
